The latest Statistical Bulletin from the Public Service Commission suggests young people are heavily underrepresented in the public service in Australia. Public sector workforce expert Linda Colley (Central Queensland University) has said that the public service has largely abandoned its role as a recruiter and trainer of young unskilled workers.
